Institue of Public Administration
At the ripe old age of thirty-something, Rochie returned to education as a ‘second chance’ mature student with the Institute of Public Administration. After four years of study via distance learning, he graduated with an honours BA in economics, law, management and public administration.
Rochie now works with the IPA to offer that same opportunity to other ‘second chance’ students in more remote towns, away from a university campus. Over 100 students studied various stages of their BA or BBS degrees in the North Cork Tutor Centre, its proudest boast is that all of the tutors are themselves 'second chance' graduates of the IPA.
In addition to its education and training roles, the IPA has a long and proud tradition of working internationally with institutions and countries engaged in reform agendas.
Rochie works abroad as a senior training consultant with the Whitaker School of Government and Management of the IPA to deliver this training and education. Since 2008, he has been a member of the team delivering a masters degree programme in the Seychelles to senior business executives and public sector officials. This work has received significant international acclaim, see overview by former Taoiseach Garrett Fitzgerald.
Previously, Rochie worked with the IPA in Lusaka in Zambia, developing NIPA, the National Institute of Public Administration.
Rochie was the first local government official to travel with a number of the EU Institutions into the Central European States, after the change of the regime there. Rochie is seen here in discussion with the great Czeck Leader Alexander Dubcek.
Business Partners
In his new coaching and training company, Rochie works with the following seven Partners, who support the development, marketing and delivery of the coaching workshops.

Rochie showed me how to set challenging and inspiring goals for my business.
The workshops have instilled me with confidence and have equipped me with the tools and knowledge to use ... both in my business and personal life.

ROBERT FARRELL
The tools to deal with difficult people are of immense value to me in my work and outside. I would join the workshops for these skills alone.
